Claddach Baleshare (Cladach a' Bhale Shear)

One of a string of small crofting townships on the southwest coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Claddach Baleshare (Gael: Cladach a' Bhale Shear) lies on the A865 road between Clachan na Luib and Corunna, 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Carinish.
The Cottage was Build from solid stone quarried from a local quarry approximately 3 miles away. It was constructed around 1925~1930 on the site of a forma Long House which is a type of stone Black House, very common on the Islands as dwellings of the time.
Present day the Cottage has been fully restored to its original state, with full Vee-Lining interior, which is quite unique in present time’s as most of the period features in other houses of a similar age have been modernized with plaster board.
The cottage was a family home for many years, as part of a croft. It is remotely positioned at side of the road leading to Baleshare, which is an Island in it own right connected to North Uist by a Stone Causeway, where you will find some of the best open beaches, with sand and the Atlantic Ocean.
